ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth in plant height, stem base diameter, survival rate, and ecophysiology of Acacia mangium and Mimosa caesalpiniifolia plants with and without inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (Rhizophagus clarus) in areas degraded by mining in the municipality of Itaporanga D’Ajuda, SE, Brazil. The experiment was conducted with plants grown with spacing of 3 × 3 m in areas degraded by sand and gravel mining in Itaporanga D’Ajuda, using plants of the species Acacia mangium and Mimosa caesalpiniifolia. Four treatments were used: Acacia mangium without AMF; Mimosa caesalpiniifolia without AMF; Acacia mangium with AMF; Mimosa caesalpiniifolia with AMF. Plants from each treatment were evaluated for plant height, stem base diameter, survival rate and ecophysiological parameters at 12 months after planting. The forest legume Mimosa caesalpiniifolia inoculated with mycorrhizal fungi (Rhizophagus clarus) presented the best results in plant height, survival rate, and photosynthetic efficiency, at twelve months after planting. Plants in the treatment with Acacia mangium without inoculation with mycorrhizal fungi (Rhizophagus clarus) had the largest stem base diameters and second highest plant heights. However, the lowest survival rate of the plants may have caused overestimation of the results of stem base diameter and plant height.

RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o crescimento em altura, diâmetro, a taxa de sobrevivência e a ecofisiologia de Acacia mangium e Mimosa caesalpiniifolia inoculadas com fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (Rhizophagus clarus) e sem inoculação em área degradada de mineração no município de Itaporanga D’Ajuda, SE. O experimento foi implantado no espaçamento de 3x3 m em uma área degradada por mineração de areia e cascalhos no município de Itaporanga D’Ajuda, SE com as espécies Acacia mangium (Acacia) e Mimosa caesalpiniifolia (Sabiá). Foram definidos quatro tratamentos: Acacia mangium sem FMA; Mimosa caesalpiniifolia sem FMA; Acacia mangium com FMA; Mimosa caesalpiniifolia com FMA. As plantas de cada tratamento foram avaliadas quanto à altura da planta, diâmetro da base do caule, taxa de sobrevivência e parâmetros ecofisiológicos aos 12 meses após o plantio, utilizando 5 plantas selecionadas ao acaso por tratamento. Doze meses após o plantio conclui-se: a leguminosa florestal Mimosa caesalpiniifolia inoculada com fungos micorrízicos Rhizophagus clarus apresentou os melhores resultados em altura, taxa de sobrevivência e eficiência fotossintética. A Acacia mangium sem inoculação com fungos micorrízicos Rhizophagus clarus teve o maior diâmetro e a segunda maior altura. Porém a menor taxa de sobrevivência pode ter superestimado os resultados de diâmetro e altura.

Resumo: Embora muitos produtores de milho verde gerenciem suas propriedades agrícolas informalmente, a produção desta hortícola, é socioeconomicamente relevante para o Nordeste brasileiro. Este trabalho objetiva estimar e analisar os custos de produção, rentabilidade e retorno do milho verde em diferentes sistemas de cultivo, nos Tabuleiros Costeiros Sergipano. Para tanto, coletou-se dados do 16° ao 18° ano de cultivo de um experimento de longa duração, em delineamento experimental em faixas, onde cada faixa corresponde ao sistema de manejo do solo (cultivo convencional (CC), plantio direto (PD) e cultivo mínimo (CM)), e foram aleatorizadas quatro culturas antecessoras (Feijão Caupí, Crotalária, Guandu e Milheto) ao cultivo do milho. Determinou-se custos da produção, Receita bruta, Lucro operacional, Índice de rentabilidade e Ponto de nivelamento. Observou-se maior produtividade e Receita bruta no PD, e maiores desembolsos no CC (R$ 8,184.59). O PD apresentou maiores Lucro operacional e Índice de rentabilidade, onde, o Guandu/PD apresentou o melhor desempenho (R$ 8,847.18 e 52.02% respectivamente). O Guandu/CC apresentou Lucro operacional e Índice de rentabilidade negativos, caracterizando-se como alternativa não viável ao agricultor. A identificação e análise dos custos de produção é uma ferramenta importante, pois possibilita a identificação de culturas mais rentáveis, sendo o PD o mais recomendado.

Abstract: Although many green corn producers manage their agricultural properties informally, the production of this vegetable is socioeconomically relevant to the Brazilian Northeast. This work aims to estimate and analyze the production costs, profitability and return of green corn in different cultivation systems, in the Coastal Tablelands of Sergipano. For this purpose, data were collected from the 16th to the 18th year of cultivation of a long-term experiment, in a strip experimental design, where each strip corresponds to the soil management system (conventional cultivation (CC), no-tillage (PD)) and minimum cultivation (CM)), and four previous crops (Beans Caupí, Crotalária, Guandu and Milheto) were randomized to corn. Production costs, Gross revenue, Operating profit, Profitability index and Leveling point were determined. Greater productivity and Gross revenue were observed in the PD, and greater disbursements in the CC (R$ 8,184.59). PD had highest operating profit and profitability ratio, where Guandu/PD had the best performance (R$ 8,847.18 and 52.02% respectively). Guandu/CC presented negative operating profit and profitability index, characterizing itself as a non-viable alternative for the farmer. The identification and analysis of production costs is an important tool, as it enables the identification of more profitable crops, being the PD the most recommended.

Abstract Intense soil preparation and disturbance in crops, over time, reduces the quantity and quality of soil organic matter. Given this context, this work aimed to determine soil carbon stocks and labile fractions under agroforestry system (AFS) and toposequences in an altitude marsh, Taquaritinga do Norte, Pernambuco, Brazil. The study was carried out at the Yaguara farm, and the areas studied were native forest with 4.57 ha and coffee plantation in shade with native forest with 25.59 ha. Soil samples were collected in four trenches measuring 1.5 x 1.5 x 0.60 m, with a distance of 50 meters. Soils were collected at depths of 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm, followed by chemical, physical and density analyzes to determine soil carbon stocks and labile fractions. The area with shaded coffee showed higher values of soil carbon stocks at depths of 0-20 cm and 20-40 cm. At a depth of 40-60 cm, the AFS top toposequence showed the highest carbon stock with 11.73 Mg ha-1, followed by the area with native vegetation with 10.6 Mg ha-1, slope with 9.23 Mg ha-1 and pediment with 7.00 Mg ha-1. It was found that the top toposequence with shaded coffee exhibited a greater stock of labile carbon at depth 0-20 cm with a value of 1.06 Mg ha-1, followed by the bedding areas (SAF) with 0.88 Mg ha-1, native forest with 0.79 Mg ha-1 and slope with 0.67 g kg-1. However, the area of native vegetation showed the highest value of labile carbon at a depth of 40-60 cm. It was concluded that the area with shaded coffee in the top toposequence showed great capacity to increase total carbon stocks and labile carbon stocks of soil organic matter.

Resumo O intenso preparo e revolvimento do solo em cultivos, com o tempo, reduz a quantidade e a qualidade da matéria orgânica do solo. Diante desse contexto, este trabalho teve como objetivo determinar os estoques de carbono do solo e frações lábeis sob sistema agroflorestal (SAF) e topossequências em brejo de altitude, em Taquaritinga do Norte, Pernambuco, Brasil. O estudo foi desenvolvido na fazenda Yaguara, e as áreas estudadas foram mata nativa com 4,57 ha e plantio de café sombreado com mata nativa com 25,59 ha. As amostras de solos foram coletadas em quatro trincheiras 1,5 x 1,5 x 0,60 m, com distância de 50 metros. Foram coletados solos nas profundidades de 0-20, 20-40 e 40-60 cm, seguido de análises químicas, físicas e densidade para determinação dos estoques de carbono no solo e frações lábeis. A área com café sombreado apresentou maiores valores de estoques de carbono no solo nas profundidades de 0-20 cm e 20-40 cm. Na profundidade de 40-60 cm, a topossequência de topo do SAF apresentou maior estoque de carbono com 11,73 Mg ha-1, seguido da área com vegetação nativa com 10,6 Mg ha-1 , encosta com 9,23 Mg ha-1 e pedimento com 7,00 Mg ha-1. Verificou-se que a topossequência de topo com café sombreado exibiu maior estoque de carbono lábil na profundidade 0-20 cm com o valor de 1,06 Mg ha-1, sucedido das áreas de pedimento (SAF) com 0,88 Mg ha-1, mata nativa com 0,79 Mg ha-1e encosta com 0,67 Mg ha-1. No entanto, a área de vegetação nativa apresentou o maior valor de carbono lábil na profundidade de 40-60 cm. Concluiu-se que a área com café sombreado na topossequência topo mostrou grande capacidade para elevar os estoques de carbono total e estoques de carbono lábil da matéria orgânica do solo.

RESUMO O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito das diferentes lâminas de irrigação aplicadas por gotejamento e níveis de adubação nitrogenada que proporcionem maior produtividade e eficiência no uso da água às ceboleiras (Allium cepa L.). Os tratamentos consistiram em cinco lâminas de irrigação (50; 75; 100; 125; 150% da evapotranspiração da cultura), aplicadas por gotejamento, combinadas a cinco doses de adubação de nitrogênio (0, 40, 80, 120 e 160 kg ha−1), perfazendo um esquema fatorial 5 x 5, em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. As lâminas de irrigação estimadas em 120,2% e 77,81% da evapotranspiração da cultura proporcionaram maior produtividade e eficiência no uso da água para produtividade total de bulbos de cebola, respectivamente. A dose de nitrogênio de 160 kg ha−1 proporcionou máxima produtividade total e eficiência no uso da água.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different irrigation depths applied by drip system and nitrogen fertilization levels that promote higher yield and water use efficiency in onion (Allium cepa L.). The treatments consisted of five irrigation depths (50; 75; 100; 125; 150% of crop evapotranspiration), applied by drip system, combined with five nitrogen fertilization rates (0, 40, 80, 120 and 160 kg ha−1), in a 5 x 5 factorial scheme, in a randomized block experimental design, with four replicates. Irrigation depths estimated at 120.2% and 77.81% of crop evapotranspiration promoted higher yield and water use efficiency for total yield of onion bulbs, respectively. Nitrogen dose of 160 kg ha−1 promoted maximum total yield and water use efficiency.

Abstract An adequate amount of soil organic matter is considered essential for long-term sustainable agriculture, ensuring good productivity. Therefore, the present study quantified carbon and nitrogen stocks and microbiological activity in soil of three different areas: Forest-pasture System, Pasture System and preserved Caatinga - used as a reference of the experiment - located in a semi-arid region, in Watershed of Pajeú River, state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Eight trenches were opened in each system to collect soil samples at depths of 0 - 10, 20 - 30 and 50 - 60 cm, for chemical and microbiological analysis. In general, attributes of soil showed better results of land use in the following order: preserved Caatinga - Forest-pasture System - Pasture System.

Resumo A atividade microbiana se mostra bastante sensível a mudanças da cobertura, tornando-se um importante indicador de qualidade do solo. O estudo teve como objetivo avaliar as alterações nas atividades microbiológicas do solo sob as diferentes coberturas vegetais no cerrado do Tocantins. O trabalho foi desenvolvido em áreas de Eucalyptus sp., pastagem, agricultura e cerrado sensu stricto na fazenda experimental da Universidade Federal do Tocantins. As amostras de solo foram coletadas em trincheiras de 70 x 70 cm nas profundidades 0-10 e 10-20 cm, com seis repetições. As variáveis avaliadas foram: concentração e estoque de carbono na biomassa microbiana, respiração basal do solo, quociente metabólico e quociente microbiano. A análise estatística foi realizada por meio do teste de normalidade, análise de variância e comparação das médias pelo teste Tukey a 5% de significância. A área com Eucalyptus sp. com 11 anos apresentou uma atividade microbiológica do solo estável, apresentando estoques de carbono na biomassa microbiana superiores em 57,32 % aos da vegetação de mata nativa, 84,29 % ao da pastagem e 290,91 % ao da agricultura. As atividades microbiológicas do solo são afetadas pela variação da cobertura vegetal do solo, sendo eficiente como indicador de qualidade do solo.

Abstract The microbial activity is very sensitive to changes in soil cover, making it an important indicator of soil quality. The study aimed to assess changes in soil microbiological activities under different vegetation coverings in the Cerrado biome of Tocantins state. The work was developed in areas of Eucalyptus sp., Pasture, agriculture and Cerrado sensu stricto in the experimental farm of the Federal University of Tocantins. The soil samples were collected in trenches of 70 x 70 cm at depths 0-10 and 10-20 cm, with six replications. The variables evaluated were: concentration and stock in the microbial biomass carbon, basal soil respiration, metabolic quotient and microbial quotient. The statistical analysis was performed using the normality test, analysis of variance and comparison of means by the Tukey test at 5% significance. The area with Eucalyptus sp. at 11 years of age, he had a stable soil microbiological activity, showing stocks in microbial biomass carbon 57.32% higher than that native forest vegetation, 84.29% that pasture and 290.91% that agriculture. The soil microbiological activities are affected by the variation of the soil vegetation cover, being efficient as an indicator of soil quality.

Abstract Soil organic matter has great importance in chemical, physical and biological processes in soil-plant system. This study aimed to evaluate changes in carbon humic fractions of soil organic matter under different vegetation coverings in Cerrado in Tocantins, Brazil. The work was developed in Eucalyptus sp., Pasture, Agriculture and Cerrado sensu stricto areas. Soil samples were collected in dry period, October, 2018, in trenches 70 x 70 cm at depths 0-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40 and 40-50 cm, with six replications. The vegetation cover in Eucalyptus sp. area showed higher levels of total carbon in soil humic fraction. Respectively fulvic acid, humic acid and humin in Eucalyptus sp. area had stocks of 22.09; 2.71 and 20.01% higher than native forest, 32.04; 2.57 and 35.59% higher than pasture and 10.59; 19.19 and 7.61% higher than the agriculture area. Among the different areas evaluated, the soil of Eucalyptus sp. has great potential to increase carbon storage in soil humic fractions.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi representar a umidade do solo no perfil correspondente à zona das raízes a partir de sensores TDR em uma área preservada do Bioma Caatinga e analisar as equações de ajuste de umidade espacializadas sob diferentes camadas do perfil do solo. Para isso, foram analisadas três classes de solo (Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo; Luvissolo Hipocrômico; Neossolo Litólico) presentes na Bacia Experimental de Aiuaba, Semiárido do Nordeste do Brasil. Os parâmetros físico-hídricos que representam as faixas limítrofes de retenção da água no solo (capacidade de campo, ponto de murcha permanente e umidade residual) foram coletados em quatro campanhas, em seis pontos e nos perfis correspondentes à profundidade efetiva das raízes totalizando 216 amostras analisadas. Para avaliação dos modelos de regressão utilizaram-se o coeficiente de determinação, a escala de Pearson e o índice de desempenho. Os resultados indicam que os parâmetros analisados são homogêneos para os perfis de solo estudados. O coeficiente de correlação de Pearson indica desempenho moderado para as equações de ajuste. Entretanto, o índice de confiança do modelo de regressão linear foi enquadrado como péssimo para o Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo, sofrível para o Luvissolo Hipocrômico e mau para o Neossolo Litólico para os dados do mês chuvoso, e péssimo para todas as classes no período seco. Os usos dos modelos de regressão são mais recomendados para os períodos de maior umidade do solo.

The purpose of this study was to represent the soil moisture in the profile corresponding to the root zone from TDR sensors in a preserved area of the Caatinga biome and analyze the spatialized moisture adjustment equations under different layers of the soil profile. For that, we analyzed three classes of soil (red yellow Ultisol; Hypochromic Luvisol; Udorthent) in the Aiuaba Experimental Watershed, located in the semiarid zone of northeastern Brazil. The hydro-physical parameters representing the soil water retention (field capacity, wilting point and residual moisture) were collected in four campaigns, in six points and in the profiles corresponding to the effective root depth, totaling 216 samples. For the evaluation of the regression models, we used the coefficient of determination, the Pearson correlation and the performance index. The results indicate that the analyzed parameters are homogeneous for the studied soil profiles. The Pearson correlation coefficient indicates a moderate performance for all regression equations. However, the confidence index was determined as very bad for the Red-Yellow Ultisol, passable for the Hypochromic Luvisol and bad for the Udorthent, for the rainy season, and very bad for all classes, for the dry season. Therefore, the use of the regression models is more indicated for periods of higher soil moisture.
